Health and Wellness Promotion is completed on an individual basis, as employees visit Health Services.

This year we have referred approximately 20 employees to a local nutritionist, with excellent feedback received from employees. Healthy eating is introduced to the entire family unit and becomes a positive experience for all involved.

Health Services follows 20 employees on a regular basis for Blood Pressure Monitoring.

Walsh & Associates is in partnership with the Stroke Prevention Clinic at Quinte Health Care Corporation. This is of great benefit to employees who do not have a Health Care Provider.

Smoking Cessation is promoted on a regular basis to employees requesting assistance.

On-site Influenza Vaccination Program is appreciated by employees with an average 60% participation rate. Tetanus and Diphtheria Vaccination are given on a frequent basis, in a proactive and preventative approach when assessing vaccination status.

Health Teaching with regards to appropriate and timely First Aid treatment is crucial to decreasing non work and work related injuries.

When analyzing the Health Services Monthly Statistics, it should be noted that in an average month of 180 employee contacts – Health Education occurs 140 times. We never miss an opportunity to discuss and promote health and wellness.
